Pegasus Bay Riesling 2024 ~ $15 glass / $70 bottle
Central Otago – It has a pale lemon hue. Opulently scented, the nose unfurls in waves of citrus, floral and tropical tones.  A surge of mandarin spray, pineapple, honeydew melon, and citrus blossom, ebbs to reveal an undercurrent of green apple, kaffir lime leaf and oriental spice, drifting over a steely mineral floor. The palate is rich yet precise, a textured mouthfeel and charming sweetness balanced by appetising acidity and well-pitched phenolics. This is an elegant and stylised wine, crisp and structural, with a long, resonant finish.

Wild Earth – Pinot Noir Rose 2023 ~ $16 glass / $75 bottle
Central Otago – A vivid pink hue that hints at the great energy and fresh aromas that will unfold in the glass. Intensely fragrant, the floral notes and bright red fruit followed by a crisp finish sing beautifully of Central Otago Rosé. Enticing aromas of strawberry, cherry, cranberry and red apple are carried long on the palate by the fresh acidity.

On release it has a deep crimson tint. A sensuous amalgam of dark fruit, wood smoke and spice rise temptingly from the glass. Impressions of bramble, cherry and plum first on attack, followed by a flotilla of roasted red pepper, aniseed, tobacco leaf, leather, and mint. The mouthfeel is impressively concentrated, with confident tannins and radiant acidity weaving across a wide, succulent palate. Brawny and classically structured, the voyage ends with a sustained and spice laden finish. While ready to drink now, this wine will reward careful cellaring for many years to come.
